This place is the kind of place where if you say you went there your friend most likely will say "LOVE that place!!"
It's especially great if you get a group of 20 or more to go to get a discount!
Experience was excellent back when we could go ON WEEKENDS.. I'm not a Bedford resident so I paid $10 cover charge each for me and my family so that's $40 and I was fine with that.. Now I went last Friday and I was told we can't go in cause we not Bedford resident or member whatever that ment (member to what) and that was Over $200 to become a member thats NOT worth it.. I use to go twice a year and that's it. Shame on them..
Also, there were a number of other safety issues. People were drinking and some aggressive behaviors were reported in the past few years. This is a family place, one insured and maintained largely by Bedford residents dollars.
I say get a membership and visit as often as you want. Otherwise, please realize that there were many factors that played into this solution.
Clean, big, but not too big! We arrive at 10:30, when the parking lot isn't at full capacity yet. We pack a picnic lunch, but you can buy lunch there. There's beach around the whole man-made pool. Most of the pool is 2 feet, perfect for 1-2 year olds. There's a slide but you must be either 9 years old or have a life jacket (that must be "coast guard approved). The slide can be intimidating for some kids. Besides the pool there is an awesome water park where many of the young children hang out at. Next to that is a park with swings.
Such a disappointment that you can't visit now as a non resident without a membership. Family membership is almost $500 which is absoutely insane! I've been a ton as a kid myself, and went once with my own son before you needed a membership. We LOVED it, I wanted to go again the next summer and when I checked online the admission rules were all changed. I get that the water was bad because of crowding etc etc but the family pass is unafforadble. Or you can get a "limited" family pass for a little less but then it's only weekdays after 4pm and weekends. During the summer when the kids are home all day who wants to go after 4pm only?? Such a shame. They could have at LEAST made the full day family membership 200-300 for non members which I would find reasonable. Who is going to pay $500 bucks for a few short summer months at spring brook park, when you will probably go, what? 10 times TOPS? So irritating. Maybe if you are a family of 5 or 6 I could see that price point but we have 1 kid. We're a family of 3, they should price it based on how many "members" you're signing up... Since over crowding seems to be their main point as to why they changed things.
I have been going there since middle school it's absolutely crazy that if your not a Bedford resident(WHICH I'VE NEVER EVER BEEN) you can't go ENJOY the place.... I'm a single mom and tried to go today with my 4 year old for literally less than 2 hours and was told i could buy a membership for my 2 person family it will cost $275.00 or for an idv. $110 but then my 4yo daughter can't go... My $$ upgraded that place for years and years and now watching my sweating hot upset child....SHAME ON YOU BEDFORD ....SO MUCH FOR THAT LOCAL INEXPENSIVE PLACE FAMILY FUN IN THE HOT SUMMER...SMH
Response to non-Bedford visitors. The place was losing money year after year. The overcrowding added to the already bad water conditions. Water conditions were so bad that the park had to close many days at a time until safe. As a way to stem this, cutting down on visitors was a step.
